Abstract
Traditional therapeutic approaches are transforming by integrating artificial intelligence (AI),mental health, and well-being. This statement itself holds the potential for both innovativesolutions and new challenges. This research paper focuses on the intersection of AI and mentalhealth by reshaping diagnostic processes, therapeutic interventions, and overall well-being. Thisreview explores the effectiveness of AI-driven tools such as chatbots, predictive analytics, andvirtual reality therapies in providing mental health support and enhancing therapeutic outcomes,including ethical considerations. Fewer high-quality reviews explore this area from a globalperspective. After a database search (last ten years studies from 2014-2024), the methodologyincludes a Prisma chart representing the data collection process leading to the result of a tabularrepresentation of the studies included in this review. The findings indicate that AI has thepotential to augment mental health care by offering personalized treatment options andfacilitating early intervention through predictive analytics. However, there are potentialdrawbacks included in the review. The issues of privacy, data security, maintaining ethicaltherapy standards, etc., might need solutions. This review will provide researchers, mental healthpractitioners, and policymakers with insight into the potential benefits and limitations of AI infostering mental health and well-being. The convergence of psychology and AI can reshape ourunderstanding of human behavior and machine capabilities. Cognitive Modelling, EmotionalIntelligence in AI, and AI as a Research Tool are some areas that showcase the dynamic andevolving relationship between psychology and AI. Thus, the implications and scope of this areaare immense to be explored in further research.
